That's not high. I only worry about CPU temps when they peak in the low 90's on air or I start getting calc errors during prime95/OCCT runs but I'm old skool. Water cooling is a whole other beast.

At 4.7 GHz, I hit low 80's with case fans on low. 4.8 GHz pushes the temps high enough that I can't run that speed during the summer.

Dang. I put an H105i in mine and I think I idle in the 30's-40's with ambient temp hovering in the high 70's - low 80's? (Temp readout on my server usually says 80~84 and that's internal case temp).

I wouldn't like my hardware idling that high. That's just me?

I have a 4770K at 4.4 (I think?) or maybe 4.5Ghz and it goes no where near there. But I am technically on closed loop water... although I have 2 GTX770's that make sure it screams.

Mine idles around 40, but the cores never really step down below 4 GHz as they should. Not sure if it's a BIOS setting or software causing it. I'm running a Noctua DH-15.

Would you guys replace a battery for an APC UPS, or just buy a new UPS?

Turns out it's just software, or lack there of, to control the cpu frequency.

Weird, do you have Speed Step turned on in BIOS?

Is the APC under warranty still? If not I'd factor it's age & cost of a new battery vs whole new UPS. I'd bet a new one could have some fancy new features and be had near the same price as buying a new battery.

I have an APC BE750G. It's at least 5 years old. A replacement battery for it is about $50. I bought it from Best Buy, who seem to still sell the model online for $110, but don't carry them in store anymore.

That's nice, very similar to my CyberPower!

I started with this one on my server: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101419 but was never really satisfied with knowing it was passive and the server could technically suffer from a brown-out. I saw this on sale for $164 probably 6 months later: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842102134

The APC now sits in my closet and I'm trying to decide what to do with it.

The Cyberpower is awesome, ran my server + network on battery for 2 hrs yesterday during a SoCalEdison maintenance window. APCUPSD worked perfectly shutting it off, too!

The BE750G has been pretty good. I have 2 of them. The electrical was pretty shitty at my old place, which still used Edison and cartridge fuses. Most of the place was wired to a single 15A fuse, so outages and brown outs weren't uncommon. Surprised the place never burned down.

@outdoorAZ no, probably not. Run all Windows updates, update your GPU and audio drivers and have fun!

How hot is too hot for an nvidia gtx 660?

Mine is sitting at 65deg c but Ive got the graphics in csgo turned all the way down to keep it from getting any higher.

Graphics properties rarely affect temps from what I've seen. I'd be happy with 65°C. Anything over 90 and I get worried.
