Yeah Ive gone through 3 different cans of bronze trying to color match those TRD caps. Have found one thats pretty damn close under the sun, but when not in full light the mismatch is obvious. Might just go with black caps and bronze the TRD so it doesnt have to be a close match.

Or piss Vin off and re-powdercoat to a lighter bronze hehe

I love the way the silver cap breaks it up. I was hoping to get the limited release bronze sr8's with the polished lip, it would've looked even better.

Truck in question: 2013 Tacoma Access Cab 2.7L 4x4 5-speed Manual Transmission
Current wheels/tires: Stock tires (Dunlop AT20 Grandtrek 245/75r16) and stock steelies (smooth silver)
Desired tires: Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx 265/75r16 (diameter: 32.01"; section width: 10.5")
Desired wheels: SCS SR8 16x8 Matte Jet Balck

    Questions:
    • Were there individuals who had zero rubbing issues with setups identical/similar to the above?
    • @Fire252fighter - Would you mind elaborating on the trimming you did?
    • Will stock TPMS (on my steelies) work with the SR8s and have zero issues?

The steel wheel TPMS will work with the SR8's. I'm fairly confident you'll have some rubbing with 265/75/26 on stock suspension. I had rubbing on the inner mud flap with 265/70/16's on stock suspension at full lock, stuffed.

Whether or not some very minor rubbing is a problem is up to you to decide. It really isn't a severe issue either way, but it is something you'll likely encounter.

Thank you. I guess there's no escaping the horror of trimming the body underneath.

    Additional questions:

    • "inner mud flap", are you talking about the one right behind the front wheel?
    • What brand of tires do you have?

I wish I could find the picture I uploaded showing the rubbing, but I haven't been able to find it. On the factory mudflaps there's a big "bump" on them on the inside portion of the fender. That's what they were hitting. Removing the mud flaps, or doing like I did and just purchasing aftermarket flaps (Husky, $35) will alleviate the issue entirely.

They're the stock BFG Rugged Trails. So not aggressive really at all.

Again, let me stress that the rubbing wasn't severe, but it was there and going up to a larger tire size would have made it worse.

So the Husky's don't have that inner bump piece? I've got rubbing on the OEM flaps and it is exactly where you described. I wasn't sure if the Husky's would actually fix that or would just end up with shorter flaps that still rub.

That's right, the Husky's don't have that bump. I'll snap a pic for you tomorrow to show you.

Finally put my SR8's on. Running on 265/65/17 Duratrac's that were on my stock wheels. Will put the 275/70's after I put my lift on and when these go bald...LOL!
