I also love benchmade. Spend about 300 bucks on a nice one... lost... Last time I do that. I usually buy Kershaw. Its pretty decent quality, and the price is right if you lose stuff like me, and apparently everybody else on this thread... Check ebay for 'em.

I grew up on a farm and have carried a knife religiously since I was nine years old. Went through several Gerbers, Swiss Army and the like and finally put up the money for a Benchmade Stryker about ten years ago. Have carried it almost every day ever since including almost eight years on the job and could not ask for more. It was worth every penny and is still going strong. Of course if you have a habit of losing knives probably not the choice for you.:D

Not the most practical (or well made), but I love whipping out this thing and helping someone with something insignificant.

I have always carried a Gerber Gator, very comfortable grip, can be easily flipped open with one hand. Not sure about your cheaper knives but the gator has the 'halfway click' so you don't chop your fingers off when you close it with your pants.

i usually carry around a Smith and Wesson Swat knife. if i dont want the big huge thing in my pocket i will carry my smaller gerber or the m tech stiletto knife. got the S&W at FDIC (firefighter convention in indiana) and the m tech from Amazon. i have a bunch of other knives that i will occasionally carry but the S&W is nice and slim so its my primary knife.

my knife looks very similar to this except its a S.W.A.T first millennium run edition and had a ti blade

Got a new one: LM Supertool 300, I am pretty impressed although it is a nailbreaker, have to remedy that :D

Definitely agree. Go with a Spyderco and you will not be let down. I also have a CRKT Point Guard that has taken some beatings, but is a little too thick to carry in the back pocket.
