I have flood, but will you actually be pointing them towards the ditches. Or straight ahead like most do

Spot. And I point them off to the side and down. So I can get the ditches and turns before my headlights get to it.

I used one from Amazon. Costs me about 20. Figure if they break or get stolen they are cheap to replace. Made the brackets for about 10$

I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. My brackets are all powdercoated. Lights are all aluminum, with all stainless steel hardware. So up here in the North East where shit rusts out pretty easy. I'll spend more to get better quality and warranty. Plus made in the USA.

For sure. I live in Vegas. Not concerned over rust. If I were to use them more often I would invest more. For camping and the off roading I do the cheaper option worked best.

To my eyes, amber cuts through airborne particulates (fog, snow, sand) better than whites, which seem to reflect brightly back toward the truck.

Exactly all my lights are Amber and I used to point my lights forward as well. But there are no ditches pointing frontwards.

whats the output like with them?
I was thinking of these when I get my taco.

Seriously not even just for off road. Where I live, in Toronto, the pedestrians are utterly idiotic. They do not check to see cars or anything the second the light turns green they just walk. Doesn't matter about the law pedestrian has the right away, if its fuckin night and you are standing on the corner where you're in the dark pretty much under a tree I can not see you till you're on the road. Pedestrians here don't realize to make eye contact with drivers, make sure they see you, I've come very close to hitting people because you cant see them until they are in front of you. These would be perfect to flip on when at a light to see if anyone is on the corner hiding in the dark.

Certainly doesn't help many of these people insist on wearing all black.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
I went with the Cali Raised kit with spots. Have them pointed straight ahead just slightly pointed to the sides. So far I'm liking them a good amount. Have yet to drive with them when it's completely dark out, but they provide a good amount of light.
Also I used a CH4x4 switch in the blank spot to the left of the steering wheel
