I was concerned about my transmission after reading about all the low fluid issues. I took mine in yesterday and had it done. Got it back today and did notice some improvements in shifting. They told me that mine was NOT low on fluid. So those of you that have had yours checked post up here the manufacure date and location it was built. Also what your truck is. Sr5, trd sport, off-road, tow package that kind of stuff.
My was built in Texas 4/16, Trd or, with tow package.
Dealer said fluid level was fine. They kept it overnight ran some test and restarted the tranny computer.
Here is the invoice for the work.

On a side note. I trust this dealership and the people working there. My salesman called me a week ago and asked me if I have had mine checked. He told me to talk to Doug in service that he would take care of me.

Getting mine checked next month (couple weeks). If it is low it's been like that for 8 months and 11,000 miles. Hopefully no long term damage. I'll update later when I find out. I've got a list 10 items long of things for them to check or fix.

Mine behaves like yours in that description.

Pop-n-lock tailgate. New radio knobs. Rear step.
Glad it's better now. Hard to say what they actually did to check the level. Testing via OBD is apparently unreliable.

1200 mile, no problem shifting yet and getting the right gas mileage but having my check next week for piece of mind. i found out my dealer service manager is a friend of my cousin, ask him if he heard about the low atf fluid. he said they did a few and all the one they check been around 1qt low. also my blind spot monitor stop working so they are going to check that too.

Also own a TRD OR 4X4 with tow package, manufactured Feb 16 in TX. Had them check fluid level while I observed before taking delivery, was correct from the factory.

No issues with 5k miles on it.

I have the same problems with my 2016 v6 sr5 double cab 2 wheel drive. Dealer added 1/2 quart fluid first visit & reset transmission. In about 3 days same problems start coming back a little at a time. It has been back 3 more times for 18-25 mph vibration and shifting problems each time they reset transmission with computer and it lasts 3 days and goes back shuttering lost motion bank & clang from r to d. They say Toyota is working on a program to fix these problems.
