    Hey TW!

I have recently begun changing my own oil thanks to the wonderful how-to on this forum. For a long time even before I change my own oil with each oil change I would add fuel system cleaner to the gas tank around the same time I did an oil change. It seems like my truck just runs a little easier if I do that especially if I'm using ethanol-based fuels which are almost impossible to avoid in my area.

So yesterday while I was at the store picking up all the different fluids to fill my truck up I noticed a number of engine oil additives like Mysteru Oil and some other ones that claim to clean engine sludge. I've googled now and found that motor oil already has detergents in it (and so does gasoline).

I'm pretty good about keeping up with oil changes I don't usually let it go very long with the maintenance light on. And I don't think that I am experiencing any problems, my gas mileage is about what it always has been etc.

So are those additives a good idea? A scam? Good for other vehicles that maybe aren't as well-maintained? Opinions please!

I use Lucas Oil Stabilizer at every change to make up the difference. V6 takes 5.5qts, 5qt jug+short filter=about 1/3qt low.

I have seen with my own eyes what Lucas OS does in high mileage semi's.
