Got a simple idea for a shelf, decided not to overthink it. Found some wire mesh with a rubberized coating, used for gutters, and bent some strapping material. It fits perfectly behind the seat and keeps the smaller stuff out of the way.

Thanks, I just spent an hour walking around the hardware store, picking something up, walking around with it, seeing something else putting it back...repeat. it's like therapy. :D

Next project, now that the battery is in the back, time to rewire. The plan is to have all interior electronics on this battery. Worked all day rerouting wires, I used more of the gutter material.
I ran the wires along the drivers side sill and fished them through the support along the back wall. This turned out alot neater than most of my wire jobs.

Rewired the front today, installed ditch lights, not thrilled at the location, I might end up relocating them, not sure yet.

Day 3 of my 'work on truck' vacation.
Because of an accident, the fender and hood don't fit perfectly. As I an driving, the front corners bounce, to the point I am worried about the latch failing. So, for my build, I am installing hood latches on the corners.

I explored this quite a lot and the latches, or pins are designed for fiberglass hoods and are large and I just didn't like the look. Then I found this company called 'Quick latch' they made a latch without a pin and in 2 different sizes. I got the small one.
    20160511_090509.jpg

It requires a larger hole than most pin latches but has a cleaner finished look.
The place I wanted to put them is a double wall so the only option is the hole where the bumpers go. I attached the pin to the frame above the headlight and used liquid tape to mark a spot to drill.
    20160511_112706.jpg
    20160511_112844.jpg
The next step took the longest, because it required me to drill into the hood of my truck. About an hour later I went for it. One hole up and a counter hole down, using a step bit
    20160511_104932.jpg
    20160511_105216.jpg
    I am committed now.

Using chop sticks with 3M tape, I fished the nut to the underside (there is a hole about 5 inches away) and was able to attach and tighten the nut.

    20160511_105559.jpg
The final look is clean and holds down the hood tightly. Too tight on one side, the damage, from the accident, to the frame around the hood is slight but I need to adjust the passenger side by about 4 mm. The pin is adjusted all the way up and is still a little low.

EDIT: I attached a piece of metal to the rib and drilled and tapped a hole so the pin sits at the right height.

Also replaced the clock spring with a genuine Toyota part, the $15 ones didn't last more than a year.

Looks like you were able to get a lot done with some time off Andy. McGuyver would have loved the chopstick tool! Great idea! I like the hood pins.

Thanks, Jim. The hood was shaking on the corners and it's all I could see when I drove.:D. Now it dosen't move at all.

Yea very good. That would have drove me nuts. Glad it worked out! They're a nice clean hood pin compared to the ones years ago. I admire you and the folks on here that can do the cool wiring mods to there trucks like adding the extra battery and stuff. I really dig your pillar gauges. Your trucks looking great!!

Andy - I bought a similar switch from Amazon (Mictuning Push Switch Laser Backlit ZOMBIE LIGHTS (Blue LED Light) , ON-OFF Toggle Switch 3A 12V for TOYOTA) but don't have a clue what to do with 3 of the four wires. This will be installed in an empty switch blank in the cab (left of steering wheel) and connected to a solenoid mounted in the engine bay that will manually control the electrical flow between my starter battery (located in OEM spot) to my auxiliary battery (located on passenger side of engine bay.)
The black wire I know goes to ground. The two red wires and the green is where I'm stumped. The solenoid needs one wire. Which one? The switch is lighted push for "on" and push again for "off.)

The red wires will complete the circuit and the green is for the back lighting of the switch. I am in a big ass hurry this morning but I will find a pic later for you.

ATO made the holder, it makes a single or double.
Pelfrybilt only had the supports under the frame horn, unless he has added them since I bought mine. The relentless ones tied farther back and higher up.
The Icons and LR setup has been great, the guy that does the alignment found it easy to set up and hasn't had to touch it since. The ride difference between the Billies and Icons are night and day, so smooth.

Now that I look at it, the green and red next to each other are the + - for the switch light. The others are for the solenoid.
