would like to add wench and ladder rack
I apologize in advance as I'm on dialup and didn't invest the time to search all the available threads. Did I miss anything previously discussed on mounting a wench to the stock truck? There's tons of room behind the 2.7 grill.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Pop on a 2" receiver hitch and mount the winch to that. The cool part is you can now move the winch to front or rear as your needs dictate and remove the winch when not needed saving MPG.

    Something like this

    Sorry... had to. :D
Jokes aside, I like the idea of a sleek built in winch. :)
I think the one above may look better with a blacked-out bumper. (like on the OR)

Problem with a built-in winch solution is it'll put too much weight on those front shock (struts) and cause a lousy driving experience, especially at highway speeds, and you'll be bottoming out the front end off road.

Unless you also do a new suspension upgrade.

At least that's what happened to me with my 2nd gen and ended up having to upgrade one thing after another (in the end not a bad thing) but it was more then I had realized I'd need to do initially.

The removable winch you toss in the bed and put it on when/if needed. So, no change in factory ride.

Been lurking for a while, looking at picking up my first Taco.
Just trying to sell my car privately and see what's up with the 17s before I take the plunge.:headbang:
