Hey guys, so, I'm getting ready to wire in my heated seat pads before I install my clazzio covers on the front seats. My only problem is, I've already tapped into my ACC fuse with an add-a-fuse for my heated mirrors. Is there another fuse in the fuse panel I can tap into that'll only be hot while the truck is on, and can support two heated seat elements? Or is there a way to stack add-a-fuses that's safe? I'm a bit of an electrical newb.

you will 100% need to do it proper and use a relay to turn on and off the heated seats.

I just taped 4 wires to one fuse tap, but they all draw less than 2 amps or so. I used a 20 fuse just to be safe + I don't run them all at once, but here is a pic of what I used.

@glorifiedwelder is a master at electrical and takes it seriously, maybe he will reply with some advice:)

Sounds like those heated seats might draw more than 20 amps lol

In all likelihood I'll be using the heated mirrors and seats simultaneously, soy main concern is the amperage I'll be pulling through an individual wire. I'm totally game to run a relay, but which wire do I tap into for the relay? I know the positive would go straight to the battery and ground to a suitable bolt, but it's the 3rd wire I'm puzzling over.

I would use a relay, they are cheap, and use solid connectors or solder. Those little pinch connectors are not made to handle large amounts of current......

I'm also an electrical noob too, but I would assume you could put a fuse tap into anything else that is on when the truck is, such as 4WD...

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Also, 100% agree in using a relay....they are cheap, easy to wire, and much much safer than NOT running one.
