So I have a pilfreybilt bumper on my 2015. And I just installed I smittybilt 9.5 xrc winch.
My concern is that. The winch wire is touching the edge of the bumper. And I don't want to kink or Frey the wire. Is that a known issue. Or will it wear away and be fine

You might want to recheck the instructions. I have a warn, and it wraps the opposite direction.

It's wrapped correctly. Every winch I've seen feeds from the bottom of the spool. Is it possible to move the fairlead up higher to move the cable off of the bumper opening? I have the Smittybilt X2O with synthetic line and an aluminum fairlead on the Pelfreybilt aluminum front bumper and I didn't have this issue.

i will see about flipping the fairlead. to use the other holes. or maybe cutting away at the bumper a bit. maybe take 1/4 inch off the bottom

To be clear, you're saying that it wraps with the line coming out from the top of the drum? What model is it?

I currently have a M8000, have had a couple XD9000i, and a few smaller atv,utv from Warn. They all spool from the bottom. The only one I know that spools from the top made by Warn is the factory power wagon winch. They might be out there, I'm not saying they don't exist, but I've either not seen them or noticed.

If you have room above the wench, the easy fix would be to raise the wench. Perhaps buying longer mounting bolts and using washers, or nuts to raise the wench a little. If it doesn't work you can always grab the grinder.

You'd be better off grinding the opening. Stacking washers in there will put too much sheer force on the bolts.
