The buckets in my 02 sr5 4 door are uncomfortable garbage!
Im looking into replacing them with big padded cadillac or mercedes bucket seats.
This is my "DD" and I routinely drive 250 Plus miles in this truck. The seats are so uncomfortable that anything beyond 100 mi makes me want to drive it into a river and call a cab.
    Has anyone done this sucessfuly?
Im also concerned they will be too wide to fit in the truck.
Im not completely hung on Cadillac or Mercedes, they just seem to be a good choice.
Im open for suggestion if anyone knows of a better choice.

i can't imagine that the luxury seats would fit width wise in there... have you taken measurements yet?

Not yet, there are a few you pull it scrapyards here in town that i plan on visiting.
I dont expect the larger luxury seats to fit very well without some serious "shoehorning" im hoping to find a mid size suv with tall skinny seats.
Im also going to raise the seat position about 1.5" front and back for more of a " full size truck" feel.

My other concern is seat adjustability.
My original seats are manual adjust as opposed to more modern seats which are electronically adjusted.
If anyone knows anything about transplanting electronically controled seats i would truly appreciate any advice.

Ill most definitely get all the wiring and fittings that come with the seat.
Im hoping to find electricaly controlled seats that only require a power source to operate and doesnt require communication with the cars computer system.
Any ideas on how to figure out which manufacturers use that type of system?

No "memory" system for seat position, or any airbags in the seat. Heated seats are awesome, but without a temp regulator could get tricky! ;)

Just need to run a positive lead with an inline fuse and ground to it. The fuse I using is a 10amp.

My driver's seat is power adjustable and I tapped into the distributor blocks under the seat for my amp set up.

    That
    That is tremendous news!!
Ive been looking on ebay and have found a pair of reeeally nice Infinity leather buckets for about 800$. If i can find some at a you pull it I think i can probably get them for about half that.

What manufacturers do yall think make the comfortable seats?
Infinity, Mercedes, Lexus, Bmw, Range Rover, Audi, Cadillac, etc??
Ive never driven a luxury sedan or suv, ive always owned trucks or classic muscle cars.

It's a matter of what will fit width wise (as you know). In terms of comfort that's a question for your tuchus and lower back :)

I have a feeling a lot of those high end maufactures you mention will be more involved than a positive and ground wire.

The Subaru seats I put in my truck literally just had a red and black wire coming out from the bottom of the seat.

    I
Positional memory isnt a concern, neither is heated seating. I live in TX so i wont ever use the heat feature, but the cooling/ air flow feature would be AMAZING.
If, as you say, the heating feature could cause complications i will likely disconnect the heating element entirely.
As far as in seat airbags go, I expect they will be ok if disconnected from electrical current.
Does anyone see a potential problem with that, or are my assumptions correct?
The last thing I want is to be driving along jammin on some Zepplin then get knocked out by an unexpected air bag discharge.

Do you have any experience with those seats?
It looks like they would be a little movement restrictive and difficult to get in and out of due to the high sides.

I give it a solid 8. Could be a hit softer for my liking but they're Subby seats out of an XT. So they're meant to be firm.

Compared to stock? So much better.

8/10 you say? Thats pretty good.
My next day off is going to be spent at a massive local "you pull it" here in town. According to a guy i work with, they have everything from cheap ass beaters to high end luxury vehicles.
I really hope i can find a Porsche Cayanne, i drove one yesterday and the seat made me feel like a KING! I felt like i was getting an ass and back massage!
If i buy a pair of those I may just sell my house and live in the truck!

    Yes
You don't want those seats, they are extremely narrow. The Corbeau LG1 is far more comfortable and a normal width. Look up the actual specs of those seats and bust out a tape measure and you will see what I mean.
