What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I didn't actually do this today, but a buddy and me fabd step bars for my truck. I know you all might wonder why, but my wife's 5 foot nothing. It helps her a lot. Now I need to lift it to justify it for myself. Then bigger wheels and tires, then...Damn, Tacoma's draining me dry

 

Went camping and got my best mpg to date.

 

Had the left rear hub and bearing replaced. Picked it up after work after the shop closed and these now stay on. Any ideas? Plus the VSC/traction control switch isn't working. It will turn off the traction control when I hold it but it won't do anything when I press it with the VSC.

I spent my memorial day doing a CMC.

 

I finally took some time to wire my shell brake light and interior light. I ran the wire by the gap between the bed side plastic top and the bedside


Now I have to make a decision about the lights I had in the bed before I put the shell on... I thout about putting them on the roof rack like.


What do you guys think about this?

Replaced my generic led lights with some Rigids.

-20" Double Row (Bumper Mounted Aux Light)
-Dually SAE (Fogs Lights)
-Dually Floods (Ditch Lights)

 

Installed today. Really happy with the way it turned out.

Went to the river cat fishing (two days ago, just catching up)


One-half pounder and a thirteen'er. Pretty happy about my first catch of catfish being pretty fair size for WA.


But today did another LOF since I turned 46,000 this weekend. While sitting at Schwabies waiting for a tire rotation (I know, should've done it myself... But free is free) I finally got the call to go get these from the freight company.

So... after my first failed attempt at doing this behind the wife's back, tonight was the night.

While she was putting the oldest to sleep, and since she ALWAYS falls asleep with him, and after I had put the youngest to sleep and did my nightly P90X Cardio workout, I did this in the garage while she slept.



I know, shitty pic. My bad. Will get a better one tomorrow. Did it in the garage and don't have room to take a front shot. But it's done, FINALLY!!

 

5 gallon bucket from lowes
80 pound back of concrete
8 foot pole for a chain link fence
Mix concrete in the bucket and place pole in bucket, make sure it's straight and let it set
Get 4 stainless steel I-Bolts with nuts and washers. (2 for pole and I like to put 1 through each rivit on the flag with 2 big washers on each side to help take pressure off the rivits)
2 chain connects/links to connect the flag I-bolts to the pole
And I went with the 4x6 flag because go big or go home
Also went pretty heavy duty with the hardware. Not the biggest but wanted to make sure I had a solid structure.
