...^^^... Ms. LotusCupCar ... Of course they are excellent in the Q/C dept. ... they are "J-Cars" ... :)

IMO ... Lexus is highest quality vehicle in the world for the money.

I can't in good conscience recommend this truck to anyone, and I'm really open with my problems I'm having with it. I don't owe Toyota anything. They need to fix there shit.

...^^^... Good call and very true.

FWIW ... My Ridgeline could carry more in the bed without drooping springs ... and the tailgate was much stronger too.

But ...it was not a "real truck" like the Tacoma.

Ridgeline is more of a family vehicle for those who are not serious off-roaders like most people on TW.

TW is full of serious off-roaders ... that do a lot of mods to their trucks to make them even more serious in off-road conditions.

My tranny has no "flaws", works good like a Tundra transmission should. That's pretty much what it is. Engine is one of the best engines ever made. Only issues are usually fixed by old computer axium: rewind operator.

Lets see, 80,000 2016 Tacomas made, couple dozen non owners with "serious" negative opinions, a unfortunate lady whose dealer didnt refill oil, a dozen or so with real issues as might be expected and 79,000 happy owners. I'm tired of the bad mouthing, go buy a chevy.

It's actually just allergic to tile. It swells up and turns into a minivan.

    A) stop with your transmission is a tundra transmission, it is not by any means besides some shared parts b) too early to make a statement like that, hopefully you are correct but for now verdict is out.

And mulch and dirt as it will fall down into the ice of the built in bed cooler or clog the tailgate speakers. I'll buy my wife one, something else she won't vacuum.

...^^^... Well said from my experiences too ... of the many trucks that I have owned (maybe 10 Toyotas trucks too) ... this is maybe the best ever ... (had a 2004 Gen-1 DC/SB) & (a late 1970's or early 1980's single metal skin tailgate & bed with a R-22 engine) ... these 2 are tied ... but the 2016 is by far the most refined for all in the past (small bugs & all).

It is not often that I look forward to getting in a vehicle and driving it ... with this 2016 ... I do ... :)

Great read, thanks for sharing! Toyota not releasing a diesel option in the US makes sense now

I'll be happy about my resale value if the new Ford Ranger has a turbo diesel.

Noooooo lol. It got cheaper by 15 cents here last week. I go to Costco, so its always a bit less than competitors. Costs me about $40 to fill the tank, as long as its below $55 I'm happy. It helps to carpool too.

Super cheap pricing is my bet. Even in May 2015 I could have had a 4wd one with full leather, top of the line package for $28k.

On a side note I see Tundra sales are way down...I'm happy with the Taco and would entertain the thought of a Tundra when I go full size...but only if it gets a major redesign and overhaul. If sales continue like that, it could happen.

The auto industry should never have gone away from the dipstick in the transmission. It would make checking fluid levels so much easier. This is what happens when you try to design vehicles that the average person can't do even the most basic things with. The result is that the average factory worker can't either.

I usually spend time daily here. Same people whining, and not nearly 80,000 of them. Major portion of owners are happily quiet.

Oh yeah, I've owned a 2008, 2010 and 2014 Tundra. 08 hit by idiot in semi pulling into hot dog stand parking lot, 2010 traded for better options, 2014 traded after a couple hundred pounds of ice fell six stotries onto roof, hood, fenders and dashboard. Can provide pics. Verdict on my Taco A/T tranny is it works great approaching 13k miles. I do 100 miles daily to/fro work.

Can you compare driving dynamics of your 2014 tundra to the 16 taco ?

Yeah besides having great value, I want the Frontier because it's the only proven 2016 reliable truck out there. Toyota dropped the ball on the 3rd Gen.

This makes no sense, how can you endorse or condemn reliability based on less than one year of a production run.

Are a sizable percentage of the 3rd gens not working or are you basing this assumption on the overall percentage of total 3rd gen owners contributing to TW?

    And what is that percentage?
