Hey all, what are your opinions on block spacers for lifts instead of springs. I'm getting mixed feed back on it and want to know y'alls opinion. Ready. Set. Go!

lots of info on here, the short and sweet version

blocks are cheap, some deal with them for mall crawling and light fire road riding. no ride improvement, some say they make it more harsh. $100-$300 maybe

new shocks and coils up front, and an add a leaf (single, or triple) out back with new shocks too. depending on how you do it, $500-1000 or way more if you want. bilstein 5100 shock up front, can be adjusted up a bit, and use your stock coils to get 1-2" lift in front.

read up and feel comfortable before you do anything, worst thing is to do it twice or more

IMO, the bottom line is that if you want/need performance and function, and not just looks, skip the spacers and blocks and go for a "proper" suspension lift.

I'm not like crawling all the time or off roading I just want it higher, the stock hight is just not exactly what I want

since you are a prerunner you could do a spindle lift up front, not sure how much those get you, 4" to 6"?, but what to do in the rear then :notsure: IDK

I would recommend a AAL over using blocks . It's inexpensive and would not dramatically increase axle wrap, which blocks will do.

Okay, here's what you do then:

General HD Springs OR Wheeler's HD Springs
    OME 884 Coils
Your choice of four shocks (Bilstein 5100, OME, whatever)
    Align, Done, roughly $1000.

That's how to do it right. I wouldn't put an AAL on leafs from 2007. If they are newer you could consider that instead and save over new packs, just get new U-Bolts too whatever you do. The OME 884s will give you about 2" up front, four new shocks will replace your more than likely 10-year-old ones that are probably very tired.

lol trust me Ive explained that setup, but im trying to show how buying used stuff here is a cheap option. that or keeping uca and stock coils and just buying an aal and some 5100s for now. anything better than spacers lol
