LED Cab Lights

Hey guys.

I was reading a thread last night about led cab lights and decided I wanted to order the lights for my tacoma. For the life of me I can't find the thread. Can someone help? Or point me in the right direction? I'm looking to do map lights dome and vanities. Thanks

 

I just did this in mine, as well as all the other lights around the truck. Gonna do a legit write-up and post it here whenever I get some free time. Here's what I used:

$11 Yorkim T10 LED Bulbs 6500K Xeron White Non Polarity 6th Generation, 194 Interior LED For Car Dome Map Door Marker License Plate Trunk lights 168 W5W 2825 Socket, Pack of 10

(they also work in the license plate lights and the third brake light)
The dome light is 31mm festoon bulb, so I bought these:

The only problem is that it doesn't exactly fit, so you have to crimp the bases on each end to work :/ If you can find another bulb that is 30mm or has more pointed ends that would work better I think. All you need to replace the cab lights is a knife or a skinny flat-head screwdriver to pop the plastic lenses off. Just be careful on the map light lenses, there are three contact points and if you rip it out they might break. Also, you might need to use the tape trick to get the old bulbs out: just wrap some scotch tape around them, make sure it sticks to the bulb, and then pull slowly and it should come right out.

I got the kit from Amazon that included all of the interior lights. worked perfect!

 

Alright this whole lighting thing has me confused. I'm looking at super brights and started with the done light. They have 4 options. What the hell is can bus and do I need it. DNASTY777 it looks like that's the one you ordered. For those of you that have already done this, can an oversized bulb fit in there or the map lights? I doubt that they would fit in the vanity ones. If someone could break this down into a 'for dummies' edition id appreciate it

Why does everyone try to piece together their own kits? I bought this kit off Amazon for $16 http://www.amazon.com/EliteTech-200...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 it came with everything I needed and didn't require any math. All in all it took about 20 min to get all the bulbs swapped out.

Quality difference mainly. I pieced the Superbrightled kit together for my truck and bought a similar kit to the one you linked on Amazon for my wife's Highlander and there was a notable quality difference in both light and build. For most people it probably won't matter though. My truck is slightly brighter than my wife's highlander but she still enjoys hers.
