    So the first three 2016's I drove didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Maybe it was because of the dealership I went to (they always like to go with you and kill the vibe).

    Whatever it was, doesn't matter. Today I took a good long drive by myself.

    The engine is not anywhere as weak as I thought it was. Maybe it was just a matter of getting used to it and learning the throttle angles you need to use to make it come alive.

    Either way......

    The test drive resulted in the purchase of a TRD Offroad DCSB, auto trans, tech/premium/JBL in Silver Sky Metallic.

    The first thing we will be doing is making side rail caps and a tailgate cap for it. The factory plastic stuff is junk.

    Other projects include a rail mounted toolbox and a bed extender (I've never been a fan of the factory tubular extender, so we might as well make one).

    As for right now, I'm shopping for wheels and tires. They will go on the day I pick it up, along with our mid height bed rack.

    Congrats on the new truck!!! How long in time and miles was the test drive? How did you convince them to finally let you go by yourself? 4th time is the charm :)

    I went to a different dealer. That other dealer is a joke anyway, and they never have any inventory.

    The drive was over an hour, and it was an easy decision.

    I have to keep you waiting, because they have to snag my truck from another dealer. The truck I drove was a TRD Sport, but all I was really testing is the engine.
