Nice vid...on the street. I'd be curious to see how well it is off-roading! Ruts, trenches, etc. The view is good from that vantage point, but when I off-road trail ride we have low hanging trees that would take that down real quick. I like the stabilization factor though!

Oh yeah. I'd never take it off road. It's not built to take that much abuse

Sorry if this has been addressed, but has anyone had issues getting their d-ring shackles to fit in the front bumper? I just got my shackles in the mail, tried to insert them into the holes and the pin won't fit. I don't know if the pin is too large or the hole is too small?

The last thing I want to do is drill the hole larger and take off the powder coating.

Should be. I'd measure the pin to be sure it's a 3/4" shackle though. Should have a 7/8" pin.

Anyone know where I can find a list of winches known to fit the '12-'15 Tacoma front bumpers without any modification? Sorry in advance if that info is already somewhere in this 275 page thread.

From what I can see, the pin is measuring at 7/8". I'll have to check the bumper tomorrow when there's better light to take that measurement.

There was a batch of bumpers with this problem, can't remember the remedy but I'm sure Satin or Tyler will chime in soon

Awesome! Figures I'd be one of the lucky ones to get one out of that batch.

I have one out that batch too... Kinda sucks! Wish I would have had the shackles to test fit before I had the bumper powder coated.

Tyler told us to drill the holes out. The shackles are going to wear the powder coat off that spot anyway.

Hope that works out for you. My hidden winch mount was one of the early batches with the incorrect support brackets, but they sent out a replacement right away with the correct specs. I'm sure the Pelfreys will take care of you.

Throw a dart at any of the winches listed for sale on the Pelfreybilt website. I believe Satin told me she and Tyler ran the Warn VR8000s in the past, but I believe they've upgraded to the Zeon series.

The frustrating thing is that the shackles are for "in case of emergency" situations. I don't want to drill the hole out, mess up the powder coating, and never end up using the shackles.

That's what I did. Drilled out the hole a little bit wider, sprayed with black paint, and put the shackle in. If you're worried about it cracking, just put some painter tape over the area before you drill. Like this

If you have a shackle in there, the powder coating will eventually wear off as the shackle bounces.
