    Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking on this site for years now and finally got a Tacoma. I've had few other trucks over the years (Tundra, Ranger, 1968 F-200, Nissan Hardbody) but this is my first Toyota. I was driving a Prius most recently due to a long commute.

I wanted something I could really take off road and not worry about. I have two little kids who like to spit their food everywhere and I also shuttle mountain bikes a lot, so the idea of paying $30,000+ for something that would get scratched and dinged didn't sound that appealing.

I live in Oregon, but one of my friends was visiting someone in Arizona and found a 2005 DCSB SR5 4x4 for sale with a salvaged title and 108K mi for $12,000. I talked him down to $10,700 and may have purchased the cheapest second gen Tacoma I've ever seen for sale.

I wired my friend the money, and he drove it 1600 miles back to Oregon. The only comment he had was that it "pulled to the left". When I looked closely it turns out it had a different tire on the front drivers side.

That was in March of this year, and since then I did new tires, toytec boss coilovers, SPC upper control arms, spider trax wheel spacers, 2 10"s behind the rear seat, new DVD player with custom back up camera, DIY shovel mount, diff breather mod and bottle opener.

    F-200 eh? Cool truck.

In my eyes you got a steal on a clean looking truck. Welcome to the TW family, the off road family, and the mountain bike family! My buddy and I want to do a dual wheeling-mountain biking to Northern California and Oregon, seems beautiful up there.

And don't worry. The Tacoma doesn't beep at you every damn sevond you have it in reverse
