Simple/affordable bicycle solution for long bed (6') Tacomas?

    I have a regular cab which has the long bed (6'). I have a small toolbox in the front of the bed. Without removing this toolbox, is there any way I could transport two bicycles upright? Looking for an affordable bike mount.

    A tailgate pad would probably be the cheapest/easiest way to transport upright

    Hitch rack for sure. If you have the money, get a platform style hitch rack. If you are on a budget, hanger style hitch mount racks work too, just make sure theres a way to keep the bikes from swaying.

    Thanks for replies. Really looking for something inside the bed. Even a pvc style thingy would be fine. Prefer not to have to drill into my toolbox.

    Just bought a tailgate mat after seeing that picture. That didn't even cross my mind to do. For my bike I was running one strap to the back tail hooks and one to the front hooks. Granted I've only done it a couple of times and wasn't driving at high speeds but it seems to work fine.

    Like the others mentioned, the Sunlight Bike fork works great. I rigged this up on my rail and so far no issues.

    Regarding the tailgate mat, what keeps the bikes upright? Looks like they would fall over as soon as a turn is taken.

    Ah cool. I see. How does the matt attach to the tailgate? Is the matt strapped down somehow or just sit on the edge of the tailgate? Where can these be purchased? Thanks

    Depending on which one you buy there are straps that wrap around the tailgate.
