    I will just start out by saying the Chinchilla is top notch and should be in your arsenal... This is the go to for now.

    The Chinchilla's 600gsm are more plush and soft than higher gsm towels. When using a detail spray, a single pass with the towel will removed the detail spray, no streaks, no moisture. This is crucial because the fewer amount of passes across the paint reduces the chances of putting swirls. You also preserve the wax/sealant you applied, causing it last longer... These are the reasons I have been motivated to write this. Before educating myself I am pretty sure I am responsible for putting swirl/spiderwebs in the surface of the paint.

    Chinchilla's can be purchased from many different sources. In the post below this one I will update websites where I find a good deal at. I have removed links to any company in this initial post to keep it focused. It may be necessary to put the company purchased from so you can track them down... To find good deals look below...

    I just recieved 700gsm Extra Fluffy Microfiber Waterless Wash Cloth towels on Microfibertech. They are very nice but not as a nice of a feel and not as soft as the Chinchilla. The pile is also a little bit longer which is nice. Both have the same texture on both sides (Duo Pile). Anyone newer to this you need to pay attention to the way they are made. Some towels have the same pile/texture on both sides other have two different pile lengths for different jobs.

    It must be said the purpose for this towel is for after the car has been washed and you apply a detailer spray (so many choices with this it will make your head spin). This towel can also be used for drying if you like. Also, this is the towel that will get the most use besides your drying towel, which again could be this one. I purchased enough to be able to create a large enough load to wash, great excuse, I know...

    Other MFT purchased
    Autofiber Elite Plush Microfiber Detailing Towels 16''x16'' 530 gsm. From Microfibertech. Many other companies have this same towel. I like these as many people have mentioned. These are perfect for removing wax or sealant. The side with the shorter pile is best for the initial removal of the wax/sealant. The other side is best for going back over and doing a final wipe (extra courtesy wipe never hurt) to remove any lingering dingle wax berry's:puke:. Using these to specifically remove wax and sealant means you don't need that many. You should only need to apply a sealant 2-3 times a year. If you good about washing the towels, 6 of these would probably do you right. If you only get around to it once a year maybe 12 towels would be good.

    I also purchased;

    Super Plush XL Microfiber Towel, 25 x 36 inches.

    This towel is comparable to the 530gsm, with maybe a slight edge to the 530 elite plush. I have to say I am not impressed espectially for the price. I had higher hopes for this towel I wanted it for drying but realized it has two different sides, this is where I learned to check every towel before you buy to make sure what exactly it is. Some towels are the same on both sides, others have a short and long pile.

    I purchased some towels for the glass. I will be using towels first to remove the surface residue. Then going back with the microfiber to do a final cleaning... more to come.

    I use two mitts for washing. One for the main part of the truck and the second for the tires/wheels.

    Black microfiber towels also for cleaning the tires and wheels.

    I will be updating this soon after I get a couple more and use a few others I have received. No haters because there isn't a lot of information, just getting this started folks...

    Basically what I would recommend is buying;

    12-24 - Chinchilla's - Drying, Detail Spray

    6-12 - Autofiber Elite Plush Microfiber - Wax/Sealant Removal

    2-4 Glass Towels...

    1-2 Wash mitts - Cleaning Vehicle - Tires

    2-4 Black Towels For The Tires & Wheels

    As you use your towels and get scrubby ones you can use these for the doorjambs and crevasses.

    There are others here who know much more than I do, this is just one persons experience.

    To get the good deal on the the Chinchillas;

    Will update soon...

    I still highly recommend the 3 for $17 on eBay. I feel they are the best ones I have purchased even when compared to other Chinchillas from these other sites.

    Other companies you can find these at are;
    The Rag Company
    Autogeek - Wolfgang Car Care
    Autotopia
    Groits Garage
    Chemical Guys
    eBay - 3 Chinchilla's for $17 Free Shipping
    Amazon
    I know there are more and will add to the list, just a quick reference for those just starting out the search...

    I do not work for any of these companies. I work in the flooring industry, nothing to do with cars. You can buy the Chinchillas from many different companies. Just wanted to pass on where I found the best sale at the moment and what I found worked the best for me...

    I am recommending two different towels from two different companies...

    You will be happier with 3 of these very nice towels rather than 6 of the others, try it and you will not be disappointed. I have ordered many different towels and wish I had just bought the Chinchilla's. Do it... do it... do it...

    The towels you already bought will be good for removing wax/sealant.

    If you have a brand new 2016, Black. I would highly recommend buying a couple nice towels so you don't get swirl marks... Also use a dedicated wash mitt with a two bucket washing system with Grit Guards in the bottom of the buckets. Plus a Grit Guard Washboard in the rinse bucket. One bucket with the wash solution and the second bucket for rinsing the wash mitt.:bucket::bucket:

    If you ever held a Chinchilla microfiber towel in your hand you would not buy Costco towels. Used mine this morning and nothing compares to them. Reminds me of petting a long haired cats back but softer.

    ...^^^... Ditto. Thought all micro fibers were basically the same too :confused:

    PS... COSTCO microfiber towels make great washcloths too. :)
