Best leveling kit for a 2016 TRD off-road 4x4

Hey guys I recently upgraded from my 99 Tacoma 4x4 TRD to a 2016 Tacoma 4x4 TRD off-road and I really want to level it and get some more aggressive tired but nothing to huge I'm thinking like some 265/70/R16 or 265/75/R16 BFG KO2s but I have no idea which leveling kit I should buy or which tire size to choose. Can anyone give me some advice?

I would personally pick up some Icon's, just an adjustable coilover set and some rear shocks to match. I like the Icons because of their digressive valving profile. Though I think those Bilstein 5100's are digressive as well.

Granted, I have a 2nd gen, but do yourself a favor and get the coilovers. If you don't, you'll end up replacing the kit with real shocks in two years or less anyway. Guess how I know?

 

what she said, ^^. Blocks are horribad, cause issues.

 

I went with the toytec spacers... 3/4" spacer, gives 1" lift. Sits on top of shocks, easy install and it rides like stock... Like $65!

I just ordered all four. If you want more lift in the future you can upgrade with ome/eibach coils and still keep the 5100 Bils.

How many inches do the 5100s set at .85 give u?Does it still give u a smooth ride?

 

I would like a 1" lift in the rear and level in the front could use the icons fr that purpose?

This looks interesting as it's a 1" spacer with the proper bump stop extensions and diff drop to prevent any issues, and also doesn't require a compressor to install. I'm considering a set but the problem is the official traxda site is a total shit show, the "link" to install instructions isn't an actual link and the product description doesn't quite know if it's 2" or 1" lift...

The thing that confounds the crap out of me is why so many spacer lifts are clearly outside of what spacer lifts are good for. Spacers are good for 1" or so if you pay attention to the geometry changes, any more and you're better served by springs/shocks. Yet people out there make 3" spacer lifts and sell them to people, somehow.

 

So I'm looking to level my new OR TRD. From what I am reading the spacers are not as good. The other option is to replace the blistein shocks with some others? I guess the stock ones would be wasted then?

I talked to a parts guy yesterday about a level, he said they normally do a 3" lift in the front and a 1" lift in the back. That sounds kind of a lot IMO. I am going to keep stock wheels tires until I upgrade to 17" Trd Pro wheels and KO2 tires. Any questions or changes I should make to the leveling kit or is it a one size type kit?

Ps. They are charging me $1300 for the leveling kit with install. I am getting dealership to do it to be covered under warranty.

 

My dealer quoted me $799 for a 3" spacer up front and a 1.5 AAL in the rear. While I am not a fan of the spacers the dealer warranties everything.

 

Gonna have to go to the deal here n see how much they'll charge fr a setup like this.I want Patriot tires though w/Mickey Thomson wheels!!!

 

Looking at Bilstiens now.. is 5100 the best bet? Where is the best place/best deal on them now?
