2000 Tacomas got shafted

Ok, so I have a 2000 Tacoma with stock 14'' rims. So turns out, all tire sizes basically above 195 require a 15 inch rim . So I am looking around at an inexpensive wheel replacement, possibly some Cragar's or something. I know my main size needed is a 15x5x4.5 but with regards to wheel width and backspacing I am not sure. Is there anything anyone knows regarding that for a 2000 5 lug. Would it be in my manual? Thanks

 

15x7 is starting for an aftermarket wheel for you...

15x8 would be good if going 32s or bigger...

unless you plan to do some long travel lift, your safest bet is to stick to 15x7 wheels...

 

Would these Cragars work? For the price you can't complain. Has anyone heard anything of these?

Why is it that the safest bet would be a 15x7 instead of a 15x8. I am not saying this challenging what you stated, I just honestly don't know?

I can use all the help I can on this, I dont want to order something and then it not be the right thing. When it comes to backspacing, is there something specific I should be looking for. I am in a 2000 2wd (non pre run) single cab. For giggles, I am running 195/75/14's right now, so I am alot lower than I wanna be. I will be getting the 3 inch lift in the front and an AAL in the back so I need to up the tire size, probably to about 235/75/15. Some of these have a 4 inch backspace, and some have a 3.75 inch backspace so I, in the end just feel like pulling my hair out. Thanks alot for your help.

 

15x7 is a safe bet as you will not be running a very wide tire and it looks almost low profile to have the rim wider than the rubber, and it helps the tire keep its bead...

235 is still relatively narrow, so maybe try for a 7 inch wide wheel...

as for backspace, 3.75" will stick out past the fenders a lil more than a 4" would, though most 15s will show up in 3.75"

since u r lifting and want to keep the wider tires away from your stock UCA, consider goin with 3.75"
