Hey everyone, I'm putting a 2.5 inch front, 2 inch rear leveling kit on my 05 Tacoma. I know how I want it to look. Just don't know if it's possible without any other modifications.
I am definitely going with larger wheels and tires. I want the" wide look", I mostly use my truck hunting and fishing and back and forth to work, So I won't be doing recreational off roading. Any suggestions on wheels and tires for under 1200. That's my budget.

You may be cutting it close if you are wanting bigger tires. Look on extreme customs for your wheels.

Spidertrax 1.25" spacers, they'll widen the stance so you can keep the factory wheels for now if need be, and quite a few people on here have and love them.

Plus they're cheaper than a new set of wheels.

On my 2015 I kept same size tire, got a wheel with 0 offset and it pushed my tire about 1 in from flare.

I would just get new rims with a lower offset.

    Nice looking truck!

I'd say keep those wheels, they're definitely not bad on that truck, and nicer than the steelies I still have on mine. If you wanted to change the look, have you considered checking out if you can get those powdercoated anywhere nearby? Could give you the darker style for potentially less than new wheels.

Another thing you might be able to do to recover some of the cost of new wheels is to sell the wheels you have now once you do upgrade them.

I'll definitely look into the spacers and wheels. thank yall very much. So you wouldn't suggest a leveling kit? I apologize for my lack of knowledge, I have never attempted to modify a vehicle before, of course I'll be having professionals do the actual work.

I would say think function before fashion.
IMO, for a wider stance, look first at the offset of the wheel before going the spacer route. Have heard of wheel bearing issues with spacers.
Look around for a good AT tire that will function for your hunting/fishing trips, but will also work well on the road. I don't feel you will need to go with a E load rated tire. That will keep the cost down a bit.
    Good luck.

You couldn't pick a better place to learn about mods on a Tacoma, my friend. I'm still learning here myself :)

If you're keeping the same tire size, or even bumping it up a size, you shouldn't need a lift/level. If you want one, you'd be able to fit bigger tires under there, but it's not necessary. Also, if you do want to lift it, don't use the spacer lift kit. Odds are you'll just end up replacing it in two years or less with a good set of coilovers anyway. Bilstein 5100's seem to be the golden standard for a bit of lift without having to make any HUGE modifications.

I definitely look into bilstien, I am looking for the function ,but still with some Great Fashion.. Lol. On a about a total $2500 budget for everything.. That's all the wife would let me have right now.. .. I have noticed driving logging rds and such in the woods that my guard scrapes a little.. A small lift wouldn't help that would it?

Yeah, it should help keep you from scraping.
