Flowmaster 817719 American Thunder Cat-Back Exhaust - SOLD!

Hello,

Up for sale is my cat-back for my 2016 TRD OR double cab long bed. I installed this on a Friday, drove around with it for the weekend and then promptly removed it because the noise police (aka wife) didn't like how loud it made the truck. We plan on driving cross country in a few months, and she didn't want to hear the noise for 10 days It is pretty mellow at normal throttle, and then gets louder when it opens up. The shifting characteristic of our truck, where it will kick down from 6th or 5th to 4th quite often means that you get to hear the noise quite often. I have a GP exhaust on my Aprilia RSV-4, so, needless to say, I enjoy a noisy vehicle.

The installation was pretty easy. It is all slip fit connections with pipe clamps. I would recommend having it welded to prevent leakage down the road. It includes an extra length of pipe so that it fits on long beds or short beds.

I'm asking $400 / Or Best offer. Paid full price on Jegs (589.00) a few weeks ago.

I'm located in Mystic, CT. I would prefer local pickup, but I am willing to ship if you don't mind paying for shipping/insurance.

How does it sound?

 

I didn't record any sound clips. There may be some online. I don't know how to describe the sound in words really. It isn't raspy. It doesn't drone on the highway. Sorry I can't be more helpful. It sounds pretty good (subjectively) to me. It is the thought of spending 10 days @ 8-10 hours a day in the truck that sort of turned my wife off the idea, I think.

I would prefer not to ship it. I don't want for it to accidentally get damaged during shipping. Plus, it is quite a large box, so I'm imagining that it won't be very cheap. But, I guess if someone is willing to pay for the shipping charges on top of the asking price, I'd be willing to ship it.

I had Flowmaster american thunder on my 2014 GT mustang I traded in. The sound was perfect at idle and when you dropped the clutch. I would pick these up in a heart beat if you were in Houston. Best of Luck!
