    Hello fellow Tacomians

I would like to eventually go up a couple sizes from the stock 265/75/R16 that came on my TRD4x4. I have already added Bushwacker fender flares and they look kind of empty. In addition I added a step bar slightly reducing body ground clearance.

I've seen a number of different approaches for suspension lifts on here. I will NOT be doing a LOT of 4x4 activity, but when I do, I want it to be right.

Right now, I'm aiming for a simple approach. A 'ReadyLift' 3" (SKU:69-5212) retaining stock components like shocks and springs.

    http://www.readylift.com/products/t...-5056-toyota-tacoma-sst-lift-kit-69-5056.html

I added about 500lbs to the back when I added my cap and bed slide so it sits pretty level already, I don't want to 'bulldog' it.

Question is...will this be enough to accommodate a wheel tire set up somewhere between 295/70/17 - 305/65/18 and how might it affect other components such as steering linkage, etc.?

If you want a tire bigger then 265/75 get ready to start cutting plastic and metal. These trucks are not blessed with the ability to take larger tires without some surgery. The lift you picked out is good for a paper weight and really mess with the front end geometry. With wide tries you need to look into new UCAs , cutting the cab mount ect so the tires don't rub.

stay away from blocks, go with 5100's set at 0.85 and you can run a 32" tire size(275/70/17), no rubbing no cmc, if you get some rub, might have to go with UCA's to adjust for more camber so they don't rub. Either way doing it right ~1200-1800.00 to start, then it can go nuts from there.

Thanks for the input so far. Just to clarify, what is '5100' and 'cmc'.

Noob to truck mods here. :)

cmc=cab mount chop(minor cut removing a chunk of the oversized cab mount)

Not sure what the 'cab mount' is...I was up in my wheel wells this weekend doing those flares and can't imagine what that is

Super easy. Which one? Toytec is pretty good, but goes on for days. But sometimes, when browsing at work, it's best to cut to the chase. LOL!

    Then there's

<<<this. (Is this my 13th post or some siht?)

I'm noob to Toyota trucks and to the forum. I'll do my due diligence from the comments that add value to my quest. And do my homework. That dude up there Eldedo saved me 800.00 bucks I was gonna spend today. Score for one for not reading the rules. lol
