I have been using TacomaWorld for some time and decided I should join up. I drive a 2005 4X4 Double Cab LB TRD Sport. I have added a SnugTop shell, TRD CAI, Gibson catback exhaust, Westin grille guard, Explorer Comp offroad lights, Bilstein 5100 shocks and BFG AT T/A KO2's (265/70R/17). I go to remote parts of Baja on surf trips and this truck has served me very well getting through some very rough terrain.
I am considering buying a 2016 Tacoma, but have been somewhat frustrated by the limited availablilty of TRD OffRoad models in SoCal and at the options packages that don't make a lot of sense. Tonneau cover as part of the premium technology package? Will keep you posted as my search continues.

Welcome to TW. When looking for 2016s, please do research on the automatic tranny.

Any reason not to keep what you have? Looks good to me.

At your age putting those '16 funds into a Roth would make things much more fun when you are my age. :D

Wanted to post an update. After reviewing many posts about the 2016, I decided to buy a newer 2nd Gen. Limited availability of the 2016 configuration I was looking for, tranny issues (thanks DustStorm4X4), new oil filter set-up, reduced torque (I pull a 23 ft travel trailer) and high cost led to my decision. I recently purchased a 2014 DB SB 4X4 TRD Off Road with 14K miles. Photos will follow after some mods.incl. camper shell, shocks, wheels/tires, etc.
I am a big fan of Bilstein 5100's. I was very happy with them on my 2005. One shop I spoke with is recommending the 5100's with either a 1" block in the rear or Icon AAL.
Another shop is recommending the 5100's with a Pro Comp leveling kit in front and no rear changes to get a level truck, which is my goal. Any thoughts on the best way to go.

After further discussion with the second shop, they finally agreed with me that a leveling kit for the front was not needed due to the height adjustability of the 5100's. Stock truck is 2" higher in the rear, so no rear mods are necessary. Wheels, tires and 5100's will be added next week.

Work in progress, but here is my 2014 DCSB TRD Off Road with the new shell, Fuel Boost wheels and BFG AT T/A KO2's (265/70/17).
