    Hello TW,

I Purchased a 16' DCSB Trd Sport a couple days ago. After spending some time on this forum I stumbled upon "Low Transmission Fluid" issue and I want to take precaution. I've heard many dealers are giving a hard time on this issue. A question for my southern california folks.. Which dealer handled this issue for you? Or is there a dealer you recommend I go to? I called my local dealer and asked if they have had any complaints about the Low trans fluid for tacomas and he said I was the first to mention.. Don't want to waste any time hopping around dealer to dealer

The best way to deal with this issues is call and complain to Toyota and see if they will give you a case number. If they give you a case number then take it to the dealer if told to do so. What date was your truck made. The date is printed on the door sticker in your door jamb. My truck was almost a quart low and my truck was made the first week this last February.

Literally just got a call from my dealer saying that my truck is ready for pick up and it WAS 1.5 quarts low! Speak with Gordon at Claremont Toyota, he will tell you to drop it off at night and they will test it the following day. Good luck, I had to pull some teeth with them to get this accomplished.

Whatever you do don't go to Toyota of Pasadena, most clueless service department I've ever dealt with.

A bit more info on your location would help. Socal can be anywhere from LA to San Diego, and I'm sure you don't want to drive 2-3 hours.

My girlfriends father said that you have to bring it in saying the transmission is shifting strangely and they have to check it under warranty.

If you bring it in just to be checked, they either don't want to do it, or they will try to charge you.

Went into Toyota of Orange. My truck was 1/2 quart low.. I was told it was going to take 2 hours so figured I'd walk down the street grab some lunch. 3 1/2 hours later it was done.. apparently it takes 3 hours for the fluid to "cool" down. Nonetheless was filled tother required amount.
