Anyone think I'll have any trouble towing this with a 2007 TRD Sport AC w/tow package:

    2017 Keystone Hideout 175LHS

    Dry weight: 3160
    GVWR: 4445
    Hitch Weight: 460
    Length: 21'

    Thanks!

You can tow it...but more important, can you stop it? watch your payload weight....My tacoma has a payload of 1,169# pounds. Payload would be your loaded hitch weight plus your passengers and gear that's inside your truck. My loaded hitch weight of camper is 600# pounds. My wife, dog and Myself weigh 400# pounds so that leaves 169# pounds for anything else I put inside my truck cab or bed. Find out what the max payload weight is on your truck. It may be less then mine because you have 4x4

You will definitely fight the wind resistance with the design of the front end of the hideout. youl need a good weight distribution hitch, brake controller and possibly a rear leaf upgrade or rear airbags to handle the hitch weight when your loaded up to prevent sag.

If you properly equip your tacoma to tow it you can definitely do it safely if you stay within your max hitch weight and payload weight, but mountains will be a challenge.

ask the dealer if you can test tow it before you buy it.

Thanks so much for your input. I live in Montana, so I thought that one might push me out of my comfort zone since I will deal with some inclines. I am definitely going to get a good WDH and trailer brake controller. Do you think something like this might be more doable?:

    2016 KZ Sportsman 16BH
    Dry Weight: 2263 lbs
    Dry Hitch Weight: 343 lbs
    GVWR: 2800lbs
    Length: 17'2"

I think I would feel more comfortable pulling this, and it would still meet my families wants/needs.

oh ya...your tacoma will love you for that choice. Also KZ already accounts for your full proapne and battery in their hitch weight. I had a dealer weigh one for me with their scale. Im looking at the 19FKTH sportsmans classic toy hauler it's 2,530 dry
But I have to special order one to get a/c in the wall like I want.

I think I'm going with a used Casita SD 17'

Seems like a good starter, and they have great resale values.

Do you guys think wd hitch and airbags are necessary?

FWIW...I have the 2014 KZ Sportsmen Showstopper 242BHS, and I couldn't be any happier. The KZ's are a very good brand, and at the same time inexpensive, without cheeping out. Great choice @bhunt49. good luck
