I just learned about these today and I'm very interested. In searching there's a wealth of info, some of it outdated and some of what I read was contradictory.

The major points I'm trying to figure out...

    1. What's the preferred device everyone is using in conjunction with the Torque app? Will primarily be using with a 2015 Tacoma, but I'd be interested in using it on other vehicles too potentially.

    2. What led me to this is my quest to get a dual axle trailer setup; can anyone tell me for sure if this provides transmission oil temps?

    Thanks

Thanks guys. For that price, it's hard to pass up.

In reading through that thread, I saw reported early on that the transmission temp was not available with the 2nd gen Tacoma, but it was discovered later that it is; is that correct?

    Thanks again. :)

I bought one to use with Torque App and inputted the sensor info to get Trans temp I got from the Torque App thread on this site (i think it was from here). So yes you can read Trans Temp with Torque on our trucks. There's two sensors in the trans you can get temp input from. I've played with it a little and it worked well.

I purchased the BAFX 34t5 from Amazon

So quick question for you guys that have done this.

I like my Bluetooth hands free and occasional music listening. One device for all of it, android phone basically.
Will I be able to connect to both points and keep all functionalaity?

    Thanks
    Mark

I use an old Android phone dedicated to this function.
My regular cheap phone can't do what you are asking.
Maybe a newer more expensive one can.

Did some googling and my s5 should be able to do this since it's different functions. Aka, not two devices using the same output like sound.

I already have am ultragauge, but sure would be nice to get rid of the wire. Decisions decisions ...
