I'm currently waiting at the dealership for this leaf recall. I'm in need to upgrade my current phone, Note 3, as it keeps freezing up and has horrible battery life. Its roughly 2.5 years old. I was looking at the S7, HTC 10, and G5. Has anyone used any of these phones and have any input if you would or would not get one again

My suggestion is if you can, go to your local carrier and play with each phone for a bit. Also there are plenty of YouTube videos that give some good stand alone and versus reviews.

I have an S7. It's an amazing phone. The instantly waterproof phone, ie a phone that is waterproof without flaps, is really handy for me. Plus it's just so fast.

There are still a few glitches with the newest version of android with some apps though.

I'm not a fan of Touchwiz, and I have always liked the HTC Sense interface, especially in Android 6.0 where they stripped out all of the redundant apps that had Google stock app equivalents. It is not waterproof though. HTC allows phones to be rooted, they even provide the tools for it, and with all of them using the same processor and almost the same camera performance, I chose the HTC 10. I did not like the rear fingerprint scanner on the LG G5. The other phone I was looking at was the Sony Xperia X Performance, but a release date of July was just too late for me.

I have no problems using the HTC 10 outdoors, and it is fast and responsive, and takes great pictures. HTC is also constantly improving the camera software.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I personally am over buying phones where the manufacturers are messing with my Android. My next phone will probably be a Nexus.

I had a Nexus, wasn't a fan of the hardware. I usually root the phone and put AOSP on it.

My Nexus 6P is making me happy. Stuck it in a Supcase Unicorn Beetle case (who comes up with these names??) and I've been happy with performance and does a reasonable job with battery. going to USB Type C is a bit of a growing pain, but getting fully charged from zero in under 2 hours is amazing.

    I wish my S7 had USB C.
