    Hi Guys

Have any of you found a "Mod Friendly" dealer here in NorCal? I live in the East Bay and have a 05 TRD OR eligible for the leaf spring recall. My truck has Ride Rite Airbags and Dakar cradles. My concern is blowback from the dealer over the "minimal" additional work required to install the new springs because of those items. (The dealer would have to remove 8 easy to access nuts)

I've read of dealers charging $75-150 because of the additional work...

I'm also contemplating leaving it alone and skipping the recall. The airbags work great and my springs have absolutely no rust on them so I'm thinking of leaving everything as it is.

    I'd appreciate your comments

    Don

If its only "8 easy to access nuts" just pull the bags yourself and take it in.

    Seriously. Do it yourself.

Dealer won't uninstall or reinstall them anyway, so.. you'll have to regardless.

When the truck is in the air at the dealer with the rear suspension hanging only the lower brackets that hold the cradles would have to be removed (4 nuts per bracket) Removing the airbags and those brackets ahead of time would be much more involved. And as part of their initial installation the bump stops were cut off per Ride Rite instructions.

correctly noted above. the dealer shops are mandated not to touch modified suspensions.

my shop guy got admonished, when he did my truck..screwed the pooch.

I on the other side of the US but they had no issues doing the recall on my truck with my lift kit, I dont see why they would give anyone a problem.
