2015 owners, did your key fob come programmed with the truck when you bought it?

The question is though, does the manufacturer program the fobs or does the purchasing dealer program during prep? If they are programmed during prep then they are not covered under the 3yr/36k bumper to bumper warranty. That's called,"Dealer fuck up".

Key fobs are ALWAYS programmed when you buy a new vehicle. Period.

They probably lost the fobs, or a salesman stole them to have programmed for another new truck or even a used truck he was selling and making a ton more $ on.... ask me how I know! It happens all the time, but usually someone doesn't drop the ball and leaves unprogrammed remotes on the keychain.

I've also seen where they lost the fobs during transit, more are ordered for the truck and never programmed.

If it's easier, ask the selling dealer if they would pay the local dealer as it's already been a hassle for you- it should not be up to you to drive back and forth to the selling dealer. Tell them you want something for free, or better yet- complain to Toyota- they've been tossing cash at people like there's no tomorrow.

Then ding them on the survey.

So, it's true you can not program the 2015 fob yourself?
