    Hey SoCal folks,

I'm in Austin, TX and I often browse y'alls Craigslist 'cause frankly it kicks our's ass.

Anyway, I came across a couple adds:

    https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/pts/5624928613.html
    https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/pts/5625793183.html

And i'm intrigued. I'm currently trying to devise a way to get these into my hands and into Austin. I'm wondering if y'all have any encounters with either of the people from these adds (mostly worried about the LT kit), if so, if you think they're scams. The LT add kinda sketches me out. I want a +3.5 kit, not a +5.5 kit (gotta save come cash by using Tundra CVs). Also, any idea how long the adds have been up?

I should have the cash for these beginning of next month, but wanted to start planning and maybe be forced to take a trip to y'alls neck of the woods.

    Thanks!

I have had very good luck buying and selling things on Craigslist. That being said, I have also avoided some potentially disastrous deals. Talk to the sellers as much as you can and if possible, find someone in San Diego you trust to check out the items for you. Avoid a long distance purchase w/ shipping at all costs. In the end, it comes down to this: are the savings worth the risk? Sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn't. Good luck hunting brother!

Yeah man, I got burned HARD on som Coilovers once.

I'm trying to find someone to meet the guy and buy em, but finding someone who knows what they're talking about to take a look is harder, especially when I won't have the cash until next month.

Not gonna do a shipping deal, screw that. Being a college student though, gotta pinch pennies if you can haha.

Thanks for the advise though! We'll see what happens I suppose

Could always road trip it out here. If anything you'll get a nice vacation in our drought laden gun hating state.

That's a kinda statement I was looking for, thanks.

I wouldn't know, have a lot more research to do. Can I ask why? I know 20" is probably bs. Want to be able to spot bad kits like that.

Typically when the price is low for an LT kit, that is usually a sign of hack job knock off stuff. Secondly, when there is something for sale and it doesn't have a company/shop name to it (that is some what known), its garbage. And with this "kit" I know it's crap because the fabricator who designed it has zero knowledge of basic suspension geometry and have seen it posted before. Sure the guy might know how to weld and it may stay together but you're going to hate driving your truck with it installed every day.

Touché. Thanks for the advise. The nameless work was the biggest reason I posted it here prior to anything else.

Down here in Texas, we don't see any adds like this pop up haha.
