2001 Xcab Prerunner V6 auto. I posted a similar question a few weeks ago when I thought my problem was the transmission, however now I'm thinking it could be a stutter with the engine. It happens most often under acceleration, worse when climbing a hill. It usually gets bad in 2nd and 3rd, but I get it at takeoff sometimes too. Is there anything with the engine that could be causing symptoms like this? It isn't throwing any codes so I'm at a loss

When did you change spark plugs last? Mine would stutter under a load uphill in 5th gear till I changed them. I never threw a code either

It's been more than a couple days lol

My guess would be the spark plugs need changing.

I'm aware of the date issue, I guess i was just responding to this post like that out of frustration from all of these open ended threads I'm finding here... really pisses me off actually! Who wants to read all these posts and not get any closure/resolve? Certainly not me! So, thank you for standing in & providing the lack ;)

So as not to be like those no-follow up posters, Im here to simply say my problem ended up being my faulty MAF sensor.. Got a new one on Ebay (of all places, matching part #, free shipping & all!) for $30! My truck was running like SH*T!! No power, HorriBLe gas mileage & constant stuttering.... Wish I had fixed it sooner, hopefully i didnt clog up my cat. in the process

Was it the only MAFS for sale? Do you have a direct link to that seller? Thanks.

Be real careful buying inexpensive aftermarket or non OEM parts off of Ebay, especially when it comes to electronics such as sensors. Glad you got it figured it out!

Oh and @Brie...you're vehicle description says that "its a TRD with Prerunner parts wtf?", Toyota also made Prerunners with the TRD package, the first gens with the TRD package all came with locking differentials. It wasn't just the 4x4s that offered it.
