Dilemma and question for everyone?

I recently put down a deposit of a Quicksand TRD Sports 4x4 DCSB with just a Tow Package for $34850 OTD including Tax, Title, and Fee. The truck is suppose to be build in next few weeks and I should be getting it July. However, I was looking on dealer website and found a Black TRD Sports 4x4 DCLB with Tow Package, Tonneau Cover, Mud Flap. The MRSP for the truck is $37068. However, they have it discounted down to $35849. I'm debating on calling the dealership tomorrow to they will accept $35849 OTD including Tax, Title, and Fee. Do y'all think it worth a try to ask them about it or should I wait for a truck that I ordered? If they are willing to accept that deal, am I going to lose the deposit?

 

Hopefully you put a refundable deposit, which most are. Is this the same dealership? If so they will apply that deposit to the truck on the lot. Whether or not they will deal on that one depends on many factors. How has the sales been on tacomas at that dealership, do they have another interested party already, how long has it been on the lot, so many things for the dealer to determine if beneficial to deal any further.
You need to consider what you want. If you ordered quicksand and you decide to get the black just because it has a few extras will you be truly happy?
Mudflaps are cheap and easy to install, and there are better covers available other than the factory cover. It really comes down to what you really want, Quicksand or black, and if you need/want longbed.

 

I made a mistake of not asking whether the deposit was refundable. However, the truck is is at the same dealership. When I came in to order the Quicksand, they show me the black truck. However, the $37068 was outside my price range and I know they would of let the truck go for the price Tax Title and Fee. With the price of the truck now drop to $35849 (still outside my price range), but I'm willing to spend a little extra for a longer bed and a Tonneau Cover. As you stated, I can get better cover for much cheaper.

 

If you must get the TRD I'd go for the offroad, you get more truck for your money.

 

There are no off road offer in my area.

Depends how bad you want a long bed, you don't see too many of them.

The factory Tonneau cover though I could do without...I wish they would just stop putting those on a majority of the ones on the lot. That was part of the reason I had to order mine, to get away from that cover.

You shouldn't lose the deposit either way. Even if your truck showed up and you drove it and said "no thanks" they should still give you your deposit back.
