Seat covers? Help a newbie decid

last truck the seats looked bad at 60K miles..I plan to keep this new Taco...I can read the reviews on sites that sell, but asking you knowledgable and experienced folks: what kind, style etc of covers for my front seats?
I am often wet from boating, if that helps. Live in Fl, where it's super hot in summer.

If you are often wet, Wet Okole are the way yo go. I've had them in my '03 (on the second set) since day one. When I did replace them the seats still looked new. I use my truck for my job which is outdoor construction. I also had a set in my '14 for the short time I owned it.

Lots of people here also like Clazzio, which I like a lot and have in my '16 but in your case Wet Okole is the ticket.

If you want something that goes on in a jiffy when your bottom or back is wet, these work great. They have a kind of rubber on the underside and they stay put when you get in and out of the truck. Below is a video.

Wet Okole will work well for you. I have them in my Taco and Clazzios in my wife's Prius. Both are great. Clazzios look a bit more upscale and are more durable but the Wet Os fit your active lifestyle in my opinion.

Get a chair pad from a medical supply shop or online and toss it on the seat(s) when wrapping up a boating outing.

You can't be any wetter than I get in a SOT yak, and the pads work for me.

You can then use the Clazzio or other to keep the seat clean if you wish, and add the pad for wet days.

Personally I just keep my seats clean. My '04 w/111k and 5 grand kids still looks pretty fresh.

 

Check out marathon seat covers. They are made of cordura nylon that is super tough and water repellent. They are made to fit your seat perfectly and can be customized however you want them. They aren't cheap, but if you're keeping them for a long time, well worth it.

 

Wet Okoles get my vote. If you live in a colder climate you can get them heated

 

Clazzio, hands down. I surf, mountain bike, hike, camp, snowboard and love my Clazzios. Anything made out of wetsuit material is not going to do well if they get wet because your truck will start to smell like a sweaty ass over time.

 

Check out the Carhartt seat covers. I have that wet okles and those and prefer my Carhartt's over everything else.

 

X2 I picked up a set of used Clazzio seat covers for the front for $100. I cleaned them up and conditioned them and they look brand new. I thought that my ass was going to fry in the summer but I was wrong. Even in 114 degree days they are not bad to sit on when getting in the truck. I had a set of sweatoaks and returned them after the first drive.

 

Clazzios. No question. They look better than factory leather.

I'm interested in the Carhartts, but haven't purchased them yet.

 

Another question from a noob soon to be tacoma owner. I am looking for seat covers primarily for dog hair/wear. Any suggestions on the lower end of the price range spectrum and easier installation to allow cleaning and de-hairing more often? Thanks for the help in advance

Now that the dog is back in the truck bed 99% of the time I just keep the hammock rolled up and stored behind the back seats in the storage area in case I need it. Great thing is if you have passengers you can remove the hammock in about a minute and store it, and your seats are perfectly clean and hair-free, and I've washed it in the washing machine a couple times and it's looks as good as new afterward.

 

I have Coverking CR-grade neoprene seat covers in mine and they are sweet. You can pretty much get any color combination you want and they are suppose to be waterproof/repellent. So far, so good! Although the fabric they are made out of is like a magnet to hair, so I don't think they would be very good around shedding dogs.

I have Carharrts ready to go on mine. I think if you wash them first the fit should be fairly snug.

 

Whats the best for the money? I am not willing to spend $400 for covers
