trailor wiring harness

got a new legend trailer, plugged harness into my 12 tacoma and all is good, plugged into our 15 4runner,no taillights, but signals and brake lights work. both vehicles have FACTORY tow packages. is there an adapter to make this 7 plug work on the 4 runner also, i use both vehicles to tow this trailor. thx in advance

 

7 pin adapter is pretty standard across the board. Did you test with the vehicle running? I would take a look for a trailer "tail" fuse and relay. Make sure a relay is there and the fuse isn't missing or blown. I would assume they would be located under the hood.

i finally found the problem, after splitting the wiring harness into two sections i found the side that had the short. turns out its the license plate light, when i disconnect it from the wire harness no short, however when i hook it straight to the battery it works fine, its a simple two seperate wires, two seperate terminals, i see no short thats possible, it is at the end of the harness, and it is the only bulb that is not led. when i get a minute im gonna hook up one of the led side markers in its place and see what happens. prob blew the fuse on my taco also, but at least its not a incompatible wiring isuue with using diff vehicles to tow
