If you have fancy pants, but dirty boots, Ford has the truck for you.

The upcoming 2017 F-Series Super Duty will be offered with a vinyl flooring option on all trim levels for the first time, including top tier King Ranch and Platinum models.

It’s a thicker, more durable vinyl than you get on the lower trim level trucks, but Ford says it’s just as easy to clean. Customers will be able to pair it with wood trim, leather-upholstered massaging seats and a panoramic sunroof.

The new option is indicative of the increasing number of high end truck buyers using their pickups for professional and personal use, and should also come in handy for off road pursuits.

“They want the luxury of a King Ranch or Platinum edition, while maintaining their ability to use the truck for work without fear of ruining the interior,” said Ford truck group marketing manager Doug Scott in a press release.

Clips for removable floor mats will let you add a swatch of carpet for dressy nights on the town, or maybe a set of WeatherTech mats for very mucky days.

Full pricing on the all-new, aluminum-bodied trucks has not been revealed, but the most expensive configurations will cost up to $75,000 when it goes on sale this fall.

Yeah I don't see what the big deal is, if they can sell them and make a profit then more power to them.

Or you could, you know, just add Weathertech or Husky floorliners, which are as tough as vinyl flooring, but are removable for hose-down.

The Super Duty is still solid front axle, right? So the amount of lift is limited only by owner stupidity, which according to Einstein has no bounds.

Heck, you can spend way more than that outfitting any of the bigger trucks.

uses for my tacoma or tundra if I had one

hauling stuff, or towing stuff, on and off road, and general purpose
street and grocery duty...load of lumber, logs...whatever can
    be done gracefully

    shit won't be breaking
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

for stump pulling, plowing, rock pulling, anything i am
going to beat the shit out of the drivetrain or engine mounts,
or dent it, that is a job for a ford f150 or greater.

shit will break and it's cheap to replace

What's more sad is you pretty much have to spend 50k to get a decently equipped 3/4 ton diesel these days. If I'm already spending that kind of money just to get a crew cab 4x4 with leather, why not go all out and get the top grade with so many more features.

I can't go anywhere without getting complements about my Denali. That's not why I bought it, but some people like that shit.

^It's an unfortunate side effect of modern emissions equipment and the HP/torque arms race amongst the three mfrs. The DPF and DEF systems have their own computers. According to a South Main Auto video, the Duramax even has a separate computer for the glow plugs.

This market will only grow and grow over the next few years. As the baby boomers retire they dont mind at all to spend that kinda cash on a truck and the younger guys around my age (25-35) want top of the line trucks. I notice it all the time, look around and you will too - you only really see the high end Platinum/King Ranch/Denali/High Country/Laramie/Limited trucks and the most basic of the trucks. You only occasionally see the mid level trim trucks. Hey if you can swing it more power to you! If the difference between driving a plane jane work truck and a loaded up truck was $100-$200 a month more why not? Re sell will be better and you will have alot more gadgets to play with!
