Tried searching for it but can't find a definite answer.

What are the ohms of the speakers in a jbl system? I replaced the fronts with 2 ohm jbl 638 3 way speakers but they just don't sound quite right. More muffled. While ohms will not make it sound that way, I don't mind changing them again but want to get the correct ohms for the system. Right now I am coming out of the jbl amp going into a rf r600x5. The amp is 75 watt rms @ 2 ohms and 50 watt rms @ 4 ohms. I want to make sure that I have the correct speakers hooked to the r600x5. So it's not going 2 ohm to 4 ohm or 4 ohm to 2 ohm.

so, if i read this correctly, you are taking an amplified speaker level signal and using it as the input for the Rockford Fosgate 600x5 amplifier....and then wondering why is sounds bad?

maybe that amplifier has EQ or crossover built in?

also, you may want to read a bit more about impedance and how/why it effects power amplifiers.
