285/75 or 265/75?

just wanted some opinoins here. got the 3 inch lift and the wheels im gonna order have 4.5 backspacing. will i be alright with the 285s? i dont wana trim much at all. just some pros and cons on the 2 sizes please thanks alot everyones always a big help

 

285s are obviously bigger, thus more rolling resistance and will decrease MPG more. They will also require more trimming.

265/75 are an 1" taller than 265/70 tires and will not decrease your MPG as much as 285s. You also wont have the problems with rub that you would have with 285s. I'm sure there is also more room to flex if you have the 265/75s as you would have less tire to tuck.

 

With the 285X75X16s & 3" lift you'll be fine. But you will probably need to trim out the "hump" on the inside of the front mudflaps to avoid rub there.
