    Hi All,

I noticed the other day that when I have my A/C running, I am only getting cold air on the driver's side of the vehicle. The passenger's side of the vehicle is getting piping-hot air blown out, and I am curious as to what that might be. Would I be looking at a faulty blend motor? When I turn the vehicle off as well, I get a weird whooshing sound from the vents, which I am not certain as to what it is, although think it could be related. Anybody have any experience with this?

    Thanks,

    John

The flow is equally as strong on both sides, it's just that the air coming out of the passenger side is very hot while the air coming out of the driver's side is nice and cool.

I have been experiencing the issue lately in which my fan motor only operates while on the highest fan-speed setting. I have yet to replace the sensor and plug assembly associated with this repair, although I've been meaning to get around to it. Maybe the two are related?

Similar issue on a '13. Posted a new thread this morning. Mine is not piping hot but definitely warmer. Starting from driver's side across it picks up by about 10 degrees per vent. They all go up. Hit mine with the IR thermometer this morning. I am going to hit it again this afternoon with just outside air. I have heard of people with dual systems have these issues but not on a simple single sided system.

Check the charge. I bet it's low.

Recharged tonight. Now pretty consistent across vents. Slow leak some where. 50 degrees or less at vents at idle in 95 degree heat. I will take it.

Advanced auto/autozone sells a pressurized dye in a can that fits the low side port; you add a bit to the system, then let it run for a while. A UV light will show you where it's leaking, it shows up fluorescent green/yellow. In my case, it was the connections at the compressor.

Recommend moving ahead w/that before the meltdown is so great it becomes a more complex repair.

The compressor is accessed thru the drivers side wheel well; you have to take the wheel off and remove the forward splash apron. Better order new clips if you do, they're almost impossible to remove without breaking.

You can also see the compressor from the front of the truck, in my case the leak was so bad that dye was flung all over the place.

I charged the system late last week - that seemed to bring consistency back across the vents with cold air. Added dye as well in case there is a leak anywhere. I replaced the faulty sensor assembly as well, and that seems to have helped a bit too. I will keep an eye out for leaks over the next little while although hopefully all is clear!
