I just purchased a double cab Tacoma 2001 and it does not have remote door locks. Can i buy a kit to install this option? If so can somebody point me in the right direction for this item
I have looked for a kit and did not find a kit just for this truck ... just a universal and i would rather not buy that

    THANKS.

Real simple if you have electric lock already. Most all kits will work

Your not going to find that. I did a minimal install on mine for the same reason. I wanted remote locks but no alarm. I just wired in a $75 alarm system and left the siren off.

installed today with very little problem. Just used the negative trigger wires unlock and lock to the gray and purple wire on truck and worked perfect. The only problem was trying to get horn to beep when locking and unlocking. Couldnt get that to work. Just going to add a positive feed horn to positive output on unit

Very easy to install Docooler Car Remote Central Lock Locking Keyless Entry System purchased on Amazon. (KMOON)
    2001-2003 Tacoma
*Take off panel under dash, 4 bolts, 1 Philips screw, don't need to remove hood latch cable. set out of the way.

*Find bolt or screw on metal bracket under dash, connect Black AND Yellow and Yellow/Black to ground.( directions with remote kit in B drawling states 'Positive Trigger-- Yellow and Yellow/ Black STILL GO TO GROUND as diagram shows- some have stated that this is wrong).

*Tap white on key less wire harness to gray wire that comes from wire junction under dash left of steering column.
*Tap White/Black from key less harness to Purple wire that comes from wire junction under dash left of steering column.
*Find thicker White/Red wire near steering column going into plug junction. This is always on 12v +, connect red wire to this.

Don't have to do anything else to have remote lock and unlock doors. That easy.

Most likely not, but I'm sure you can find a schematic on Google.
