I originally had 255/70r16 on my Tacoma with stock wheels and the truck rode great at all speeds. Today I switched to brand new ProComp 7089s 17x8s with 265/70r17, mounted, balanced, and alligned by a popular tire shop in the area. While they did it I had them replace my rear shocks to some Bilstein 4600s I just got in because they offered to do it for $35, well worth my time and sweat. Anyways, I've noticed that my truck is shakes a little at 55-65mph then goes away above 65. To me this sounds like they didn't balance them correctly, but I wanted some input from you guys. I assumed after spending over so much money my truck would ride smooth as glass.

tacomas are hub centric they will need to balance them correctly.

Guess I'll take it back there and see if they'll admit it's wrong

Are there weights on the wheels (little clip looking thing on the side of the rim)? They may have 'forgot' to balance them.

I'm not a mechanic but I wouldn't put my money on this problem being caused by wheels out of balance because I would think the problem would be consistent throughout highway driving. Regardless, good luck!
