Having a manual and never wanting to push it over 2.5k RPMs. Driving like an old man. :)

The 7th has nothing to do with boost. it only add fuel when engine reach certain rpm and boost.
Honest i only feel boost above 3500rpm, since supercharger has low boost, and higher the rpm, higher the boost.

I think the 4 bangers handle high RPMs better, at least the 2.7l i drove felt much more comfortable closer to redline than my 3.4l does, but Im likely being a little paranoid especially with the supercharger on.

My 3.4 lives above 3K, between the load range E tires and my aggressive driving it has to stay wound up to get me anywhere.
It's part of the reason I'm thinking of getting an ecoboost, bigger truck, similar MPG, and i can usually stay under 3K rpm with an EB.

Makes sense, thanks. This truck is my first experience with forced induction, honestly didnt even know it had a supercharger until i went to test drive it (salesman had no idea lol). So I'm still figuring out how it works. I do get quite a bit of pinging under high RPM/boost at times so I likely still need to look into the 7th injector.

Personally, being an off road guy, if i'm in second gear bouncing the rev limiter i'm calling it, 'cause i'm probably locked in the rear and if i'm touching redline i'm probably twerking better than Miley in the back, and as fun as blowing an axle shaft on a trail is... nah.

The guy who bought my camper shell let me drive his supercharged 5 speed around and I never got it above 3300 rpm.. just didn't do it for me. My truck and his alike seemed to like lower RPMs better, put those 4.10s to work. I've only driven a SC'd 3.4 once though so maybe i'm not a good input.

Anyway, all I can think of is the ECT mode and a heavy foot man without a tuner. I'm sure someone like Bully dog sells a tuner you can change your shift points.

You can also check and see if the carpet or a floor mat might be preventing you from going to a true WOT. Friend of mine had that issue; it's a silly one that no one thinks of, but it happens.

As far as the 3.4 powerband, I typically keep it under 3k unless I'm merging into traffic and really need to get going. However, the powerband on the 3.4 really starts to kick in above 3500 rpm.
As you can see on the dyno, the peak hp and torque are up in the rpm's pretty high.
