Wow you're one of the rare breed that actually likes the 98-00 face. I think you'll need new front fenders to match the headlights, the grille, headlights, and bumper. I might be missing some, but that's the majority of it. You could sell your old 97 front face when you're done with it, I know a lot of people like that era.

I thought the cutouts for the headlight side markers are different?

Wow man.... you're going the wrong way with the swap. The 97 front end is boss.

Here's the link to my swap going the other way... don't know if it will be of any help.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/front-end-swap-98-00-to-a-95-97.307810/

    You'll for sure need:

    98-00 4WD grille
    Grille Mounting Clips
    98-00 headlight assemblies
    Bulbs of your choice
    (R/L) 98-00 headlight mounting brackets
    (4) Adjustment screws for headlights
    (2) 98-00 Retaining rings for headlights
    (4) Tension springs for headlights ( buy at least 4)
    (8) screws to mount retaining rings to headlight mounting brackets
    (R/L) 98-00 4WD Bumper fillers
(R/L) 98-00 4WD Corner lights - You will have to modify the sheet metal in order to properly mount the corner lights with screws. Or just drill strategically placed holes and zip tie them on.

Oh boy - where I'm from that means something a whole lot different.

I'm not sure what you mean by center hole. And I'm not sure on the 97 to 98 conversion. The 98-00 headlight brackets are entirely different than any other Tacoma. So I'm not sure how they fit/secure to the core support.
