So I've had my tacoma probably a month now and I was just curious has anyone has had any problems with the DRL setting? It was working fine until today I went to turn off my lights and when I had it on the DRL setting the day running lights wouldn't come on not sure if it's because of the lights being on right before that or what but the setting wouldn't work. I'm gonna check in the morning and see if they work but just curious of if anyone had a problem with this or a way to fix it? Thanks

Same exact thing just happened to me. At some point during my very short drive they decided to come on. Before they decided to cooperate I cycled the headlight switch back and forth and they wouldn't respond. It was only a mile to my house and they were on when I got home. I double checked the DRL setting on the radio and they were set to on. Hopefully it was a one time thing.
Funny thing is it almost appeared as though they were on but very dim.

Mine quit completely. I am actually sitting at the dealership right now getting a new switch put in. Happened about 1 week to 1 month of me taking it home. I do not use them much if at all, I am not a fan of them. But having a switch to turn them on and off, I have found times they are useful.

Could be a switch going bad. I was told the part number had changed for the switch.

Update... Still at the dealership. Was told it was not the switch, after I have sat here for a hour and a half. Now being told it is not getting a ground and they do not know where the problem is.

    I am not happy.

They did find an answer. At some point the customization settings got changed to have the day time running lights always off. The service guy made it sound like it was not an option I should have been able to get to without a scan tool.

I was told the first time I brought it in for this problem, that this had been checked.

Among other issues with this service department, I will not be returning there. This was the 3 time I took the truck to them to get it fixed.

Lights work just like they are supposed to now.

I've just experienced the same thing today. Put the selector on the stalk to "DRL" and nothing happens, put it into position "three" (one right before full headlight and it works, although it turns on the side indicator and rear tails) but I know my DRLs worked because I drove home from the dealership with them on in position "DRL"!
