But just the hose...not a hose and a cord. Also, I did read the reviews before I bought it. 3.5 out 5 stars is pretty good. There will always be a few bad reviews. Bad news always spreads faster than good news. Someone is much more likely post up something negative on a review than a positive. Also...people have no clue how to maintain pressure washers. After the novelty wears off they put them up without purging the pumps (sitting water corrodes internals and/or ice formation cracks things) and leave untreated fuel in them for months at a time then bitch when the bumps leaks and/or it won't start the next spring.

    For $249....it's a good value.

Troybuilts own site only gives it two stars.

How did they run bleach through the pump if it picks up afterwards?

Too bad they make them no where near the quality of this 12 years ago. Now porter cable uses generic engines from China.

Where did you read I replaced a pump?

I said earlier not to run bleach in them because it will mess up the pump. Meaning some may pick up before the pump.

Got this one below for a bit now and am addicted to power washing now. I got it because I didn't want a cheap one and I didn't need a commercial one but something I can do anything with.

Mine is a "GreenWorks", not sure the model number off hand ( on my way out of town now).
    It's advertised at 1600 psi.
Black body w/ zombie green trim.

My restaurant owner buddy just goes to lowes and gets whatever $100 110v electric washer they have and they always last a good long time.

Not sure about the new ones, but my Homelite has a 6.5hp Honda clone motor. I got it for free on trash day. Put a new carb on it (Amazon $25) and I have about 100 trouble free hours on it since. It's great. I think they go for about $300 new.

We also have a Husky electric one. It works, but there's no comparison. You have to stop every 20 seconds or so and let it build pressure. My wife likes it but I've always hated that thing.

Sorry, I would never use a pressure washer on my vehicles. I wouldn't point something that can etch cement at any painted surface I didn't want to destroy. (Sounds like the first rule of safe firearm handling). I've used one to remove a gallon of paint spilled and dried rock hard on a driveway. How can that be good for a anything on a vehicle?

Definitely have to use the right nozzle for the job and use some common sense. We are talking about cleaning under the truck and not going crazy on painted surfaces.

OP ... I have 2 washers. An electric Karcher which rinses really good and a John Deere gas pressure washer. I think you had mentioned you travel hunting trails in other posts. I travel trails as well. Some of the mud/crud gets packed WAY WAY up and underneath. I have to roll under my Taco with a creeper to pressure wash underneath.

The John Deere is worth every cent. It is 3300 psi, and has many tips. It has variable pressure adjustments and enough to remove paint if needed. Usually only one or two pulls to start and never misses a beat.

Tried Troybuilt and tried Honda I got from Costco. The pressure regulator is on the bottom and gets hit when I moved it. Cheap parts and cheap hoses with both units. They are a good rinser and a cool toy, but not enough for me. I took both of them back.

The John Deere is more money, but I use on house, driveway, walkway etc. Worth every penny. Mine is an investment, not a cheap quality one.

I just bought a Pressure-Pro Professional 3300 PSI from Pressure Washers Direct. Great unit...3300 PSI, aluminum, frame w/lifetime warranty, Honda GX 200 engine (not the GC which is made by Briggs & Straton), and has the CAT Direct-Drive Plunger Pump (triplex). It has the adjustable PSI and I ordered the optional pressure gauge to set different pressures. The unit is relatively light and I can pick it up by myself and put it into the back of my Tacoma. Like "Manwithoutaplan" (post #16) I also did a lot of research on pressure washers before I bought one and I wanted one that would last a LONG time. I looked at the Simpson models, Troy Built models, Husqvarna, and Generac among others. All good units but I liked the people/service from PWD and the Pressure-Pro 3300 was highly ranked by their customers. They carry all the major brands of pressure washers from electric home units to high end professional models costing several thousand $$. The unit was $719.99 w/free shipping and no tax. Ordered it on a Monday and got it that Thursday. Unit was shipped direct from the mfg. (Pressure-Pro) located somewhere in S. Florida. The unit will run all day long and never miss a beat. Maybe a little "over-kill" for a home based unit but that's why I bought a Tacoma instead of a Colorado..LOL!

Exactly, different nozzles for different tasks. I have high pressure gun tips from 0 degree angle (concrete etching) to a low pressure tip at 120 degrees that dispenses soap and can be used to rinse the truck just like a car wash wand.

Specs on my pressure washer is its an Excel ZR2800 pressure washer, GX200 Honda motor, CAT pump that came with 50 ft of hp hose, gun and multiple nozzle tips. I would look for something similar to those specs if possible if you want to use it for years and be relatively maintenance free. Like I said, I've had mine for 15 years and other than replacing a leaking wand, it has been bulletproof.

I've added another 50ft of hose and also use a 16 ft telescopic extension so I no longer have to climb ladders around my house to reach anything to clean.

Once you have a good one, you'll use it on just about anything outside.
