    Figured it would be better to post here than in 3rd gen...

    I've got a 2016 SR (4x2) that's not a serious offroader, but does see unpaved roads and light offroading duty. My budget-conscious upgrade was to nab a pair of take-off springs and struts from a 2016 TRD off road. They're on the way, but in the meantime I need to decide what I'm going to do to level the truck... It would be silly to throw the takeoffs on there and then remove them again a week later for spacers.

    What I'm confused on, though, is why most "level" kits out there say 2" , which is much greater than the rake I'm seeing on my truck. What I'm seeing is a pretty steady 1-1/4" rake, that turns dead level with about 500 pounds in the back. With a 2" front lift the truck would have a 3/4" inch reverse rake unladen, and with a 500 pound load in the back (roughly 1/3rd bed capacity!) its nose would be up a full 2 inches! I understand leaves are progressive so the 500lb load compressed the suspension more distance than the next 500 would, but still it seems strange to me to put such an aggressive lift on the front, unless you never use that bed. (I do, it's the whole reason I bought the truck).

    I do see Toytec's TOP1-T spacer is a 3/4" lift, which seems like that would be much more reasonable. Not aggressive enough to mess up any geometry (I don't think) but would calm the rake down to 1/2" unladen, and leave me with a 3/4" reverse rake when I'm carrying something heavy.

    Sounds to me like the Toytec spacer is the way to go- plus it's sub $100 and kind to the budget. Anything more and I start getting into the realm where it's silly to just be using TRD take-offs.

    Am I missing anything here? Also, how does the lean factor into this? I'm measuring about a 3/8" lean unladen w/ a mostly full tank, which I suppose I can live with.
