    Hello everyone,

Just introducing myself. I just received a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 Double Cab 2wd with just over 158K miles from my father for a very low price (dad brought a 2016 Tacoma 4 cylinder DC). I was about 2 years from buying a new one myself as soon as I paid off the wife's van. Dad claims he never received any notice from Toyota in regards to the frame recall/campaign and I contacted Toyota yesterday and they stated that the recall/campaign had expired. I notified Toyota that my dad never received any notice and Toyota assigned me a case number and said they would get back to me within 48 hrs. I had my mechanic check out the frame and do some minor maintenance on the engine and my mechanic stated the frame looked great for a vehicle of its age and considering it was in NYC for its entire life. The mechanic did state there were a few bubbles of rust on the back and he recommended that the rust be wire brushed off and that the frame be painted with some rust inhibitor. Mechanic said he would do it for 150 and recommended we do it in October/November before the snow starts. I don't plan on using it very much in the snow since its not 4wd and I have a Subaru. Anyway, I look forward to learning from you guys. I have some minor mods I want to make. Thanks.
