Just figured it out. For anyone else wondering all you have to do is pull off the bottom cover of the steering wheel and disconnect the wire in the photo.

I don't like to forget my keys in the ignition, but sometimes I like to sit in or work on the car with the stereo on and NO annoying chime.
You can have both: I pulled the trim cover off the bottom of the column next to the driver's seat. From there you can access the wire to the door open/closed pressure switch. I removed the wire, cut it & soldered in 2 feet of thin speaker wire going to a on off switch. (I used the push in-on/push again-off type) I cut a 1/2" wide x 1/2" deep flap into the bottom edge of the plastic trim cover and using a heat gun & pliers, gently bent the flap up. Then I hot glued the switch under the panel so it just sticks out into the carpet. Anytime I want peace & quiet, just push the button.
